The Mirror Project

The "Mirror Project" is an intensive Shakespearean training and performance experience for students ages 9-16. The program takes place each year during the month of July, concurrent with the run of MCT's summer Theatre Under the Stars festival. Core classes include Acting, Shakespeare, Voice and Movement, and Audition Techniques. Additional classes are offered in Stage Combat, Dance, Acting with Masks, Acting for the Camera, and Technical Theatre. Classes are taught by company artists performing in MCT's summer productions. The final product of the conservatory is a "mirror" production of one of the season's Shakespearean plays, produced at the Cornelia B. Stevenot Performing Arts Center at Stevenot Winery and open to the public.

In summer 2007, the Mirror Project will produce Shakespeare's As You Like It. Classes will begin on Monday, July 2 and end on Friday, July 27 with a public performance on Monday, July 30 at 7pm. All classes run 9 am -1 pm, Monday through Friday, at Stevenot Winery's Cornelia B. Stevenot Performing Arts Center, 2690 San Domingo Road, Murphys, CA.

Cost for the Mirror Project is $300. Class size is limited, and early registration is encouraged. All students must have some prior acting experience. Participation in a group audition is required; the aution will be held on Saturday May 26th at 2:00pm, at the theatre.
