Murphys Creek Theatre presents Love Letters by A.R. Gurney, the hit Broadway two-person, Pulitzer Prize-nominated play that tells the sweet story of two close friends who begin writing to each other as children and never stop.
Special guest stars from the greater Mother Lode community will take the stage each night for this one-weekend-only production, including Don Bilotti, Firman Brown, Maryann Curmi, Martha Kight, Gary Tofanelli, and Barbara Yook. The play is directed by longtime MCT Artistic Director Graham Green.
Love Letters follows the lives of Andrew Makepeace Ladd, III and Melissa Gardner, two affluent East Coasters who meet in the second grade and communicate through letters and postcards for more than 50 years. A story of unrequited love, we follow the characters down their separate paths of careers, love, heartbreak, aspirations, and failures — all captured through their poignant correspondence.
