2025 Quill to Act New Play Festival
Love a good story? We’re looking for volunteer readers to help choose the top plays for our 2025 Quill to Act New Play Festival—and launch the next world premiere for our 2026 season! Read at least THREE fresh scripts (or more if you’re game) during May and June and play a part in shaping the future of our stage.

Finalists Announced: August 2025
Our panel of judges is busy selecting three plays to come to life as staged reading!
Playwrights whose plays are selected as finalists will be notified by July 31, 2025, and will be announced publicly in August.
A $100 stipend is awarded to each finalist playwright.
Staged Readings: September 30, October 7 and 14, 2025
Stage readings of the finalist scripts are slated for September 30, October 7 and 14, 2025.
Directors, performers, and technicians for the readings are drawn entirely from a pool of local, professional artists.
After each reading, the audience provides real-time feedback to help us crown a winner.
Winner Announced: November 1, 2025
A winning script will be selected from the finalists.
The winning script will be workshopped and produced as a mainstage production in MCT’s 2026 Season!
