Watch the magic unfold on the big screen!

The wait is over, and our Summer on Screen students are ready for their red carpet moment! Join us Saturday, August 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Murphys Creek Theatre for the world premiere of Stage Fright, a short film created by our incredible youth participants during three weeks of hands-on filmmaking.

From writing to acting to camera work, these students brought the story to life—and now they get to see the final cut for the FIRST TIME with their families, friends, and YOU! All thanks to the Calaveras Community Foundation’s support. Without their generous funding, this program would not have been possible.

Admission: Pay-What-You-Can (or Pay-It-Forward to help support youth arts education at MCT)

Program Director Robbie Allen will be on hand to introduce the screening and celebrate the students’ hard work.

Come cheer them on, laugh in the right places, and witness the next generation of storytellers. Let’s pack the house and show these young filmmakers how proud their community is!

About Summer on Screen

The 2025 Summer on Screen program immersed youth ages 12–15 in every stage of filmmaking, from the first spark of a script to the final shot on screen. Over three weeks at the Black Bart Playhouse in Murphys, CA, students dove into two weeks of skill-building classes before taking their talents on location for an intensive week of filming. Every participant stepped into both the spotlight and the crew’s shoes, gaining a true 360° view of the filmmaking process.
